The order of Saint-Michel is an order of chivalry, founded in Amboise on August 1, 1469 by Louis XI, under the name of Order and friendly company of Mr. Saint Michel.
Its seat is established at the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel.
His feast day is September 29, the feast day of the Archangel Saint Michael, patron saint of the kingdom of France until the wish of Louis XIII.
